Position: English Teacher Location: Redbridge Start date: September 2026 Smart Teachers are recruiting for an inspiring and dedicated English Teacher to join a thriving secondary school from September.This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher to join a successful English department committed to developing confident readers, writers and communicators. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and challenging lessons that inspire students to achieve their full potential and develop a lifelong appreciation of English literature and language.Whether you are an experienced teacher or an ambitious Early Career Teacher (ECT), this role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive department that values collaboration, high expectations and continuous professional development.The RoleTeach English Language and English Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for a suitably experienced candidate.Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons that promote high levels of student achievement.Assess, monitor and track pupil progress, providing targeted intervention where required.Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking and independent learning.Contribute to curriculum planning, enrichment activities and the wider life of the school.Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.The Ideal CandidateHolds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.Has experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and strong classroom management skills.Has high expectations of all learners and a commitment to raising attainment.Is an effective communicator who enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive team.Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.About the SchoolThis is a successful and inclusive secondary school with high aspirations for every student.
