We are supporting a specialist consultancy on a major defence programme and are looking to engage an experienced FPGA Architect with strong capability across VHDL and/or Verilog, Real Time signal processing and FPGA-based systems.
\n
This role is likely to suit someone who can operate at both architectural and hands-on RTL design level, with relevant experience across areas such as software-defined radio, Embedded signal processing, communications, RF, radar, electronic warfare, aerospace, telecoms or adjacent defence technology environments.

Key responsibilities
\n
\n - Lead or support architectural design for FPGA-based Real Time signal processing systems
\n - Develop, review and assure VHDL/Verilog designs across FPGA-based applications
\n - Contribute to design approaches for software-defined radio and related signal processing use cases
\n - Shape design options, implementation routes, technical trade-offs and delivery considerations
\n - Produce or support architecture documentation, design rationale and technical artefacts
\n - Help upskill internal staff on VHDL/Verilog, RTL design concepts and FPGA development practices

Key skills and experience
\n
\n - Must be able to demonstrate previous case studies creating VHDL and/or Verilog designs for Real Time signal processing applications
\n - Strong hands-on FPGA design experience using VHDL and/or Verilog
\n - Ability to operate at architectural level while remaining hands-on with RTL design
\n - Experience with FPGA design flows, RTL development, timing, verification and implementation considerations
\n - Background in software-defined radio, RF, comms, radar, EW, DSP or similar would be highly beneficial
\n - Defence, national security, aerospace, telecommunications or mission-critical systems experience would be advantageous
