We have recently partnered with a key client to deliver this exciting lead role for a large tier 1 main contractor.


The business is part of the Hospital 2.0 Alliance — a £37bn partnership bringing together the New Hospital Programme, NHS Trusts, and ten leading construction partners to deliver the next generation of NHS hospitals. This national alliance is driving forward the largest transformation of NHS infrastructure in a generation, using the Hospital 2.0 approach to boost capacity, modernise delivery, and build long‑term skills across the industry.


You will be working as a Project Director in the Building Operating Unit where you will be responsible for Tender, Design and Construction process, maximise the team’s potential to deliver a successful project safely and commercially. Maintain the company's brand, ensuring Clients, users and local community are proud of and satisfied with their development.


As the Project Director, you will:

  • Own and control the Contract Programme, the Mode and Method for the delivery strategy, the Target Programme adjustments (through the project planning manager) and the Package split concept (through the commercial lead).
  • Be actively engaged in and have overall responsibility for Method Statements and Risk Assessment before operations commence for all contractors and operatives.
  • Lead and develop the Project Plan and ensure its implementation reflects the Head Contract.
  • Actively manage the development of people through the PFADR process assessing staff performance and setting improvement plans appropriate to the individual.


We are looking for:

  • Demonstrable experience of delivering large scale projects working through PCSA stages, successfully converting and delivering on time and to budget.
  • Clear understanding of and demonstrable experience of Hospitals, ability to manage expectations and deliver to budgetary constraints.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing projects from inception through to completion with a value of between £250m and £900m.
  • Experience of full Delivery & Build projects would be highly relevant.
  • Knowledge and experience of using CEMAR would be advantageous.
